india.... the smellier side to it:
english august is one those books you really love to hate for starters ..everything and any thing dictating the condtions of india are true and for that matter quite blatant at that..this could be quite nerve recking for any indian who loves to only conjure images of the rich and neat india, the authuor succeds in creating a sense of cluastrophobic lonliness..at times i really begged in my mind when ever the protagonist comes across some female in the story he gets to screw her, such is the level of frustration the reader would feel . english august is by far one of the best books writtn by an indian author that really give a glimpse of the real india..
